CUT AND FOLD by Lottie Stoddart

We're thrilled to share the exciting news of our partnership with THE TAGLI, bringing you an art exhibition featuring the brilliant London-based artist, Lottie Stoddart.

THE TAGLI, a wandering gallery of sorts, is dedicated to shining a light on both rising and well-established artists from the UK and around the globe. They're passionate about presenting contemporary art that's not just visually captivating, but also thought-provoking and innovative.

Lottie Stoddart is a truly versatile artist, dabbling in painting, ceramics, textiles, animation, and even creative writing. Her diverse skills blend together in a fascinating mix, all centered around her passion for storytelling. She crafts tales that are compact, reshaped, twisted, layered, and rearranged to bring forth fresh perspectives and interpretations.

Imagine delving into the dynamic world of literature, where stories are unearthed and given new meanings. Stoddart often puts these intriguing narratives in a cozy nook, reminiscent of a theater, keepsake boxes, and bass relief. She's keen on every element being as precise as each word in a freestyle poem, where the secret to deciphering it lies in illusion, tangibility, and playful contrasts.

Stoddart has been making waves in the art world since 2015 when she refined her skills during The Drawing Year at The Royal Drawing School. She further expanded her expertise by participating in the Turps Studio Painting Programme at Turps Art School in 2019/20. But that's not all! She's also a proud alumna of the University of Warwick, where she shined with a First Class Honors BA in English Literature in 2011. In 2023, Stoddart's hard work was rewarded when she received THE TAGLI’s Mentorship Award and was selected for the 2023 British Ceramics Biennale ‘Fresh’ talent exhibition. And guess what? She also bagged the APT & Fenton Arts Trust Award in 2021.

The show at Loop Generation, located at 171-175 Draycott Avenue, SW3 3AJ, is open until the 4th of July 2024.
